A mini documentary about David “Doc” O’Connor, owner of http://www.vetspaddle.com in Dana Point, California.

I met Doc while filming for an upcoming YouTube Review Video and was immediately intrigued by this his music. Here was a man playing to his hearts content on a gorgeous sunny morning with the pier as his stage and the birds and kayakers as his audience.

Here’s a little bit about David from his website:

Vietnam Veteran, David “doc” O’Connor, knows what it feels like to need inner peace. Believing in the healing properties of the ocean combined with kayaking, doc founded “vetspaddle.com”. This program, intended for veterans, firemen and policemen, brings those veterans who return from service with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), other traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) or physical disabilities together through kayaking activities that help them relax, rehabilitate, and reintegrate into society.

Hope you enjoy this short documentary about Doc.

Thanks for watching!

Howdy folks! We got a brand new video going over WHY it’s OKAY TO MIX PROFILES! You don’t always need SLOG but when should you use it? We talk about some dynamic range on the Sony A6500, when I use SLOG when filming commercials as well as what profiles I like when I can’t or shouldn’t be using SLOG2/3.

Subscribe to the channel if you liked the video as I have plenty of other videos past and future for beginning film makers looking to get the most out of their Sony A6500 and Sony A7RII for professional work.

We’ve all heard time and time again to, “Embrace The Journey” and “Trust The Process”. If you truly live your life by these words everyday, you’ll know what they really mean.

For Tony Jakstis, it’s always about being optimistic, supportive and truly embracing the journey regardless of all the set backs and failures. As a business owner, non profit founder, aspiring actor and man who values his employees, friends and family I challenge you to find anyone else who has devoted the amount of patience and effort to manifesting his dreams.

This is his story…

As the title says, it’s been a rough one….at least the month of September. Some wins, some losses but ultimately it’s how I (and you) receive things. We can receive things as bad or good, or we can choose to change our mindset and simply look at everything that comes our way as an opportunity.

There were definitely a couple wins this month, finished filming my second documentary for the Film Convert contest as well as had an opportunity to do something new, different and hopefully that leads to bigger things my way.

Thanks for tuning in as always friends.

Need to know the best lens for making videos with your Sony A6500? Want a professional look but also on a budget? Well my friends this video is for you! I’m talking today about this hidden gem of a lens, the 16-50mm Kit Lens for Sony Alpha cameras.

Not only is it a budget friendly option (probably the best) but you get the versatility of a compact, light, zoom lens that’s going to get you sharp enough images for:

1.) Studio videos
2.) Product shots
3.) VLOGS
4.) Travel videos

You can pick up the kit lens from Amazon here **http://amzn.to/2fHFXrZ** but DEFINITELY shop around for a used version of this lens.

So which one are you supposed to buy? With a very small price difference between a new Zhiyun Crane V2 and Glidecam, it can be hard to choose one or the other, OR do you go for a budget friendly steadicam for less than $100 USD?

In this video i’ll go over my thoughts and recommendations for professional and YouTube related work using the:

1.) Yelangu S60T
2.) Glidecam XR-2000
3.) Zhiyun Crane V2

We’ll go over pros and cons for each stabilizer to give you specific things to consider before you make a purchase.

As always I appreciate you guys for taking the time to watch this review. Leave a comment down below and i’ll respond ASAP.

Here we go! Sony A6500 low light review for anyone considering purchasing the Sony A6500 as a main camera. I’ve been filming with the A6500 for professional and personal work but the low light performance even with fast glass isn’t the best. You can still work around it IF you have the extra cash flow for noise reduction software which I show in this video.

That’s not to say you can’t use the sony A6500 in low light films, it depends how much light there is, what lens you have and if you can get away with underexposing your scene.

As always leave a comment and i’ll get back to you!

As an independent or freelance filmmaker, striking the right balance between your true passion and facing the reality of how to get there is difficult. There are bills to pay, a mouth (or multiple) to feed and your sanity starts to slip away – being replaced with self-doubt and pessimism.

I often find myself (daily) doubting myself, but then at the end of the day I have to be my biggest fan and continue to cheer for the home team. Easier said than done…

At the end of the day, it’s up to each and everyone of us to live our dream and to never give up on it.
