What’s new YouTube Fam! Today we’re talking about where your keylight should go for interviews or when filming two people with dialogue. I have a few example clips from client work, a documentary and two short films to help with that. In general, keep your keylight motivated from your back light when you can to create contrast from light to dark in your images.

YouTube filmmaking friends! Today we’re talking about investing vs buying gear, specifically filmmaking gear of course. Whether it’s a light, a set of lenses, or a camera knowing the difference between what you’re investing in and what you’re simply buying as a means to an end can help save you money and frustrations as a business owner or freelance filmmaker.

What’s new fam! I have a three part lighting breakdown for you guys highlighting a recent television commercial spot I did for your cinematography tips needs. This first part is a moody bathroom scene using household fixtures, negative fill/blacked out window, one Nanlite Pavotube and a whole lot of shallow depth of field 😉

In this video i’m reviewing the SLR Magic Anamorphot-65 adapter to see if anamorphic adapters are worth it? You could spend tens of thousands of dollars on pure anamorphic glass or you could spend a fraction of the cost on adapters, but theres always a catch when you go with a budget option.

At the end of the day, I think the anamorphot-65 is optically a great adapter but the operation and functionality of the adapter make it hard for single, one man band filmmakers to use this lens. If you’re with a team or a small crew then this adapter is definitely an option.
